MAS Flow Chart
- Mentor upon determining that a candidate is ready for testing must call the MAS liaison. The MAS liaison will call the MAS to discuss the arrangements for proctoring.
-
The candidate is to ask the District Superintendent to send a letter to church informing them of their requirements to pay the MAS fee.
-
If the MAS requests the mentor to do the proctoring, then the MAS liaison will have the mentor call the MAS for proctoring instructions. If the MAS chooses to do the proctoring themselves or names another person who has been instructed regarding proctoring procedures, then the mentor will have the candidate call for an appointment with the proctor.
-
Mentors are to order the psychological tests from Nashville and they must use an application form (#112) to secure the test. The cost for the test is $200 to the church, $200 to the candidate, with the remainder paid for by the BOM. Checks must be sent to the Conference Treasurer prior to receiving the test. Whoever is proctoring the test is the one whose name will be on the application form for receiving the test.
-
Upon receipt of the test, the mentor or proctor will contact the candidate and set up time for testing.
-
Mentor or proctor must adhere to the MAS’s careful instructions for administering the test.
-
Upon the candidate’s completion of the test, the test is sent to Nashville to be scored.
-
The scored test results will be returned to the MAS liaison.
-
The MAS liaison will send copies of the test scores to the MAS and will notify the candidate that the results have been sent.
-
Candidates will call MAS for an appointment for the purpose of interpreting the results. (Scheduling an appointment is the only reason for a candidate to ever call a MAS.)
-
The MAS will write two reports based on their interviews and test results, a complete report, and an abbreviated report. The MAS will send those reports to the MAS liaison.
-
The MAS liaison will send copies of the complete report to the mentor, and the DS. A copy of the abbreviated report will be sent to the DCOM registrar.
-
The mentor and the candidate will review the results together and then return the copy of the report to MAS liaison. There must not be any other copies of the report made by the mentor or candidate.
-
The DCOM chair calls MAS and the committee members are to set up a committee conference call to discus the results of the test and how to interpret it. DCOM questions should be concise and clarifying. BOM will pay MAS for their time in this matter.
-
The DCOM meets with the candidate to discuss report and the next steps to be taken.
